My name is Samantha Grimes and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern located in Beverly Hills. What is a “Marriage and Family Therapist Intern” you may ask? An MFTI is someone who holds a master’s degree in clinical or counseling psychology and has undergone rigorous schooling and practicum program as well as being in the process of working towards the 3000 hour experience requirement before taking a two-part exam to become a licensed therapist. I am currently in the process of attaining those hours toward licensure. I have worked in a variety of settings including schools, outpatient clinics, non-profit community clinics, and a local police department. I am currently venturing into the world of private practice under my supervisor, Daphna Cardinale, MFT.
I specialize in treating anxiety and panic disorders, grief and loss, and relationship and attachment issues. I offer individual and group therapy as well as hold a variety of workshops. I am currently seeking a credential in clinical sexuality and drama therapy. I have lots of experience working with at-risk children, teens, and military families. I look forward to working with young adults, those struggling with substance abuse, and couples.
This is my blog to reach out to people and discuss different important topics. This is my first blog so feel free to suggest ideas and topics for future posts!
